Baseball, Forestiere Underground Gardens, Sonora Pass, Mono and June Lake

Memorial Day Weekend meant Monday off so we planned a road-trip to go skiing and see Death Valley.

Those will be seperate posts, those are pictures from Friday and Saturday.

It was a nice roadtrip, but still close to 7 hours in the car so we had some stops.

The first picture is from June Lake, this is from Mono Lake, both are east of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range

which we had to cross. There is still too much snow to cross Yosemite National Park,

but luckily Sonoara Pass opened last week

which provided some nice views and

shorter hikes.

Before that we stopped in Fresno visiting the Forestiere Underground Gardens

Basically the good soil was hidden beneath a lay of rocks

so the garden was built beneath this layer making it cooler.

Friday night Colleen organized tickets to the Baseball Game and we actually met the director of the Cal Poly Athletic programs.
